Pranic Healing Instructors Lauren Khalifeh, RN, BSN, HNB-BC and Linda Flar Lund, RN, BSN, HNB-BC are at the epicenter of innovation and research using Pranic Healing to manage patient’s pain, stress and anxiety in the Emergency Department. Their efforts have received both national and international attention in recent years.

Last week, Lauren Khalifeh, RN, BSN, HNB-BC, Coordinator of Holistic Nursing at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ was highlighted in an NBC Nightly News story aired on their new program to avoid painkiller addictions but not at the cost of patient suffering. St Joseph’s Emergency Department staff use Pranic Healing and other holistic healings to manage patients’ pain instead of automatically turning to potentially addictive prescription painkillers.  To watch Pranic Healing being done at the Emergency Room and other information on opioid alternative protocols, click here.

In 2015, Lauren Khalifeh, RN, BSN and Linda Flar Lund, RN, BSN presented research on the effects of Pranic Healing in the Emergency Department at the 1st Pranic Healing Research & Development Conference in Bogota, Colombia.  In their randomized control study, 48 patients of the Geriatric population entered into the Emergency Department with acute and/or chronic pain. A control group received pain medication and an experimental group received pain medication and Pranic Healing session. Results concluded that Pranic Healing was significantly effective in reducing symptoms of pain in the geriatric ED.
